Diana L. Paxson

Die amerikanische Fantasy-Autorin Diana Lucile Paxson wurde am 20. Februar 1943 in Detroit, Michigan geboren und wuchs in Los Angeles auf. Bekannt wurde sie durch ihren Westria-Zyklus und vor allem durch die Zusammenarbeit mit ihrer Schwägerin Marion Zimmer Bradley. Gemeinsam schrieben die beiden Autorinnen an der von Bradley begonnenen Avalon-Saga, die Paxson nach Bradleys Tod vervollständigte. Gerne verknüpft Paxson ihre Romane mit Historie wie im Wodan’s-Child-Zyklus, der die Nibelungen-Saga nacherzählt. Paxson ist bekennende Asatru und schrieb auch über Runen und die Asatru-Religion. Sie lebt in Greyhaven, einem Künstlerhaus in Berkeley, Kalifornien, wo auch schon Marion Zimmer Bradley gewohnt hat.
